provides an integrated MIS system and a highly efficient reporting and electronic claims

After-Hour Coverage
CBHNP provides 24/7 coverage to clients on an after-hour,
weekend and holiday basis. Our highly competent staff answers telephone calls,
provides Member assistance, and facilitates admissions and utilization management
for inpatient services to almost 4 million Members. CBHNP also serves as
a telephonic and utilization management backup for some of our health plan clients.
We have installed high-speed communication links with clients, migrated their MIS
system to create a seamless data exchange, and used their own behavioral health
medical necessity criteria on request.
CBHNP develops administrative service only (ASO),
risk-sharing as well as fully at-risk arrangements to meet a variety of payer needs.
Innovative shared-risk agreements can align financial incentives between the health
plan and provider, decrease administrative expense, eliminate barriers for Members,
and allow utilization management decisions to be made at the level closest to patient
care via innovative provider partnering arrangements, if desired by the health plan.
Wellness, Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs),
and Chronic Condition Management
CBHNP has been providing EAP services since 1997.
The first EAP contract was with the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission and CBHNP
continues to provide EAP services to them today. Today, integrated as well as
stand-alone Wellness, EAP and chronic condition management program offerings are
available from CBHNP.
Behavior change determines the ultimate success of any health
management program. However, all too often, programs focus on the medical issues of a
chronic condition while ignoring the behavioral issue of motivation and ability to
change. Most vendors have adopted algorithmic, linear methods such as tailored
information messaging and the stages of change model that have shown limited
effectiveness in providing added value to their programs. Returns on investment
(ROI) cannot be sustained if the costliest subset of chronic condition patients is
left out of a business model that attends to modestly ill and motivated individuals.
