CBHNP utilizes a provider profiling process that is an important provider-level quality
improvement activity, as well as an opportunity to internally track and trend data over a
set period of time to identify possible areas of improvement. It is also a tool to make
meaningful comparisons based on a varied data set including claims data, authorization
data, quality reports and demographic information. Provider profiling results have been
compiled using data from October 1, 2008 to September 30, 2009 and include twelve
levels of care. The profiled levels of care include Behavioral Health Rehabilitation
Services (BHRS), Community Residential Rehabilitation Host Homes (CRR HH), Family Based Mental Health Services (FBMHS), Partial
Hospitalization Services (PHP), Mental Health Inpatient Services (MH IP), Mental
Health Outpatient Services (MH OP), Residential Treatment Facilities (RTF) and
Evaluators and Substance Abuse Detoxification, Halfway House, Short Term Rehabilitation and Long Term Rehabilitation Services.
Profiling indicators vary among services. Some of these indicators include data from
utilization ratios, case mix severity index, service delivery percentages (for BHRS),
Member satisfaction, treatment record reviews, administrative compliance, and provider
performance indicators. It is important to note that all of the profiled providers are fully
credentialed network providers in good standing with CBHNP, and the results of provider
profiling are presented for informational purposes only for Members.
